ABOUT
ELEANNA SANTORINAIOY

Eleanna is a UK/Greece-based director working across commercials, short films, music videos, and branded content. She’s a graduate of the National Film & Television School (NFTS), the London Film Academy, and the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she studied Philosophy and History of Science.
She began her career in theatre, directing five children's plays in Greece. Her debut, Apples, Cinnamon & Sugar, became a breakout hit — it's now the longest-running children’s play in Athens, with a 17-year run (and counting). In 2021, she adapted the story into an interactive app.
Transitioning into film, she created short films, promos, and short documentaries while working as an editor for editorial and social content. Her collaborations include The Smalls, Global (PopBuzz, Capital, Capital Xtra, Radio X, Heart), News UK, LionTV, and Fulwell 73. Editing taught her rhythm, pacing, and narrative structure — skills that deeply inform her directing style.
With roots in theatre, Eleanna thrives in working with talent. She’s known for drawing out authentic, powerful performances and is proud to bring the best out of every actor she works with.
Her work leans into comedy, drama, and the subjective perspective of characters — always aiming to surprise the audience.
She's committed to evolving, staying curious, and pushing creative boundaries to craft bold, emotionally resonant, and entertaining stories.
Her work has been featured in Shots Unsigned, named a Young Arrows 2024 Finalist for Best Student Commercial, and showcased on Daily Short Pick and ShortsTV.
Her films have screened at top festivals including the Oscar-qualifying Drama International Short Film Festival, and she’s participated in development labs such as RIFF, Cannes Series Writers Club, and Sundance (semi-finalist).
She’s also collaborated with Yorgos Lanthimos on Bleat and currently serves as Artistic Director of the children’s stage at the Fournos Centre for Digital Arts.
